Back in May, I posted an update on My Pet Python’s Facebook page explaining why I no longer post to this website, the fact that I actually no longer have Havana, and why I sadly had to say goodbye to her. I thought I should probably post a copy to the blog in case someone might be curious but didn’t end up stumbling over to MPP’s Facebook page, and so here we go:
Hey guys, Elise here!
This page has been getting a lot more attention than it used to when I was regularly updating the blog, so I’m guessing a lot of you are stumbling across MPP from Google search and ending up here! Anyway, thought I’d give a little notice with regards to why I haven’t been updating MPP and why I still keep the blog up regardless.
Unfortunately, over a year ago, I had to say goodbye to Havana. Thomas and I had to move houses and I sadly couldn’t take her with us, so I did my due diligence, found a lovely person passionate about ball pythons to care for her, gave him some pretty in-depth information on the ins and outs about her feeding habits and such, told him to email me if he needed /anything/, said my farewells to Havana, and sent her off to be with her new owner in her new home.
I will admit I was enormously relieved to have found someone not only ecstatic to take her, but who was interested in learning as much as he could about her and asked numerous questions to find out more about her habits. She was most certainly left in good hands, and since I had no choice but to part with her, I’m assured this was what was best for her.
Though I no longer update My Pet Python with new information, I’ve left it up because I feel like it has some helpful articles for new ball python owners.
I’ve gotten a few PMs and emails (when my email address was still up) from you guys since then, asking particular questions about pet problems, and I have been happy to answer those. Even though I don’t still have Havana, I still have all my knowledge/experience from when I did have her, and even if I don’t know something, I’m glad to help out by doing some research and answering questions when I can!
Thanks by the way to those of you who reach out when you don’t know what to do about your pets! It makes me happy to see that you care enough about them to really try to do what’s best.
For those of you who might be interested, these days I’m still blogging, although not about ball pythons anymore. I run a survival blog with Thomas over at MoreThanJustSurviving.com (so check that out if you’re at all interested in camping, outdoors, gear, etc. – its Facebook page is here). We also have a personal blog over at EliseandThomas.com, and if you want, you can keep tabs on me over at EliseXavier.com – very unrelated, but thought I’d just mention these projects so it doesn’t look like I’ve dropped off the face of the net!
Like I said before, I’m always happy to answer messages and questions about ball pythons – so don’t hesitate to ask and if I know the answer I’ll let you know – if not I’ll usually give it a quick search.
All the best to you and your ball pythons! May they always have excellent sheds ;).
x Elise
