Havana shed on Saturday night. Unfortunately, unlike the last time she shed her skin, this time we missed the actual shed.
On Saturday night I stepped into Thomas’ office at about 11 PM to put some more water on the towel above Havana’s enclosure. At that point, I saw the scene above, and realized she’d already completely finished shedding. She was sitting behind her hide looking quite content with herself.
As disappointed as I was for having missed the shed, I know I’ll have plenty more opportunities to take snake shedding pictures again: about 5-6 chances per year.
Thomas tells me that she was quite active that night. I suppose having slept for a week and a half straight had made her very restless, and once she’d gotten her skin off, she was finally free and itching to roam around again.
